Hands On Grooming Guide
Beagles may have short coats, but regular grooming remains essential for healthy skin, reduced shedding, and odor control. Using a high-quality dog shampoo formulated for coat balance — such as Cindra Cleansing Shampoo — helps maintain skin health while supporting natural coat oils.
Useful tools for this breed: a medium bristle or horsehair grooming brush, a deshedding glove or grooming mitt for shedding control, a bath brush to work shampoo through the dense coat, canine eye wipes and ear cleaning solution, a nail grinder or clippers, paw and nose balm for seasonal protection, and dog-safe toothpaste and toothbrush.
Beagles benefit from bathing every 3–4 weeks. While their coats may not show dirt quickly, oils and debris build up over time. Use warm water and a bath brush to reach the undercoat, rinse thoroughly, and avoid leaving residue behind. Finish with Cindra Maxi Care to maintain softness, reduce static, and protect the coat between baths. Puppies often feel more secure being bathed in a sink with a non-slip mat.
Brush your Beagle one to two times per week to reduce shedding and support healthy circulation. A deshedding brush or grooming mitt works especially well during seasonal coat changes. Consistent brushing improves coat appearance and reduces loose hair throughout the home.
Trim nails every 5–6 weeks to prevent discomfort. Apply paw balm to protect against hot pavement, ice melt, or rough terrain, and keep the nose moisturized to prevent cracking from sun or wind exposure.
Beagles' floppy ears can trap moisture and debris. Clean ears weekly using a gentle ear solution and cotton pads, and use canine eye wipes to remove buildup and help prevent irritation.
